RADIOHEAD In Rainbows (UK/EU 10-track LP pressed on 180-gram black vinyl. In Rainbows captures Radiohead at a point of rare balance: experimental yet direct emotionally exposed yet meticulously controlled. Following years of continualreinvention the band approached this album with time autonomy and a sharpened collective instinct allowing ideas to develop with clarity rather than urgency. Opening track 15 Step immediately signals intent shifting from fractured electronic rhythms into a fully realised band performance before the sharp-edged propulsion of Bodysnatchers locks into one of the groups most forceful grooves. Elsewhere Weird Fishes / Arpeggi and Reckoner explore fluid circular structures with elevated percussion and luminous guitar lines creating a sense of constant motion. More restrained moments such as Nude Faust Arp and the closing Videotape strip everything back to atmosphere and tone allowing Thom Yorkes voice to carry the emotional weight without excess. Throughout the album elements from Radioheads earlier electronic and guitar-driven phases surface naturally fused into a coherent whole rather than standing as experiments. Winner of the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album In Rainbows remains one of the bands most complete statements. Picture sleeve factory sealed.
