B&Q - Plant Theory Belarina Series Pink Ice Autumn Bedding Plant 9Cm Pot

Soft pastel shades are always welcome in spring, and the beautifully layered blooms of Primula Belarina 'Pink Ice' put on a charming display for weeks. Opening creamy white before gradually taking on delicate blush-pink tones, each fully double flower has softly ruffled petals with a subtle hint of lemon at the centre, creating the look of miniature roses above a tidy rosette of bright green evergreen foliage. Compact and easy to place, this hardy, deer and rabbit resistant, primrose is ideal for patio pots, window boxes and the front of borders, where its gently shifting flower colours can be enjoyed up close. Flowering from early spring into early summer, it brings long-lasting colour with modest effort and responds well to deadheading to keep fresh blooms coming. For use as winter/spring bedding plants, plant primulas into fresh, free-draining compost and position pots and baskets in a bright, sheltered spot, avoiding harsh midday sun. Water well after planting, keep the compost just moist through winter, remove faded flowers regularly, and protect containers from prolonged hard frost to keep plants tidy and flowering well. Alternatively, plant out in a partially shaded and sheltered position, adding position, adding plenty of leaf mould and compost to the planting hole and backfill. Water well until established. Divide large clumps in late spring or early summer after the plant has flowered, preferably during a wet spell. Position: Light shade Soil: Moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, or peat-free general purpose compost Rate of growth: Fast-growing Flowering period: February to April Hardiness: Fully hardy
