Product Description

The K-Rend HP12 Base Coat is a versatile, high-performance render base designed for application on difficult substrates, including render carrier boards, dense blockwork, unpainted render, and brickwork. It utilises High Polymer Technology to enhance adhesion and water resistance, ensuring a robust base for all K-Rend finishes, including Scraped Texture, Thin Coat, Dash, Roughcast, and Brick Rend. Ideal for both hand and machine application, the HP12 Base Coat is perfect for projects requiring a reliable stipple coat or a strong foundation for dense backgrounds. It offers exceptional durability, ensuring a smooth and long-lasting render finish, especially when used with K Rend R7 Primer for maximum performance. The use of Alkali Resistant Reinforcing Mesh is recommended at stress points like door and window reveals to ensure extra reinforcement. Key Features & Benefits: High Polymer Technology: Designed for enhanced performance on difficult substrates. Difficult Substrate Compatibility: Perfect for dense backgrounds such as render carrier boards and brickwork. Versatile Finish: Compatible with a range of K-Rend finishes, including Thin Coat. Hand or Machine Application: Can be applied manually or using a machine for increased flexibility on-site. Water Resistance: Improved water-resistant properties ensure long-lasting protection. Reinforcement Ready: Can be used with Alkali Resistant Reinforcing Mesh at stress points for added stability. Technical Specifications: Coverage: Requires 8-11kg per m² (nominal thickness: 4-6mm) Maximum Thickness: Up to 12mm on masonry substrates Compressive Strength: CS IV (in accordance with BS EN 998-1) Capillary Water Absorption: W2 Thermal Conductivity: P=50% - 0.61 W/mK Application Instructions: Apply as a primary coat where required, with thickness specified by the product guidelines. Straighten using a Darby or straight edge to ensure uniform application of the next coat. For best results, form a light key and allow 24 hours curing time before applying subsequent coats. For unusual substrates, contact technical support for guidance. Ideal Applications: External rendering projects with difficult substrates Residential and commercial buildings needing a robust, water-resistant base coat Perfect for projects requiring a thin coat finish or other textured render styles
